Cisco CCDA Certification Description:

The Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) certification from Cisco Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise environment with the design of routed and switched network infrastructures involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services for businesses and organizations, or those who want to find employment in those environments, and want to obtain the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification.

The Cisco Certified Design Associate certification certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Design Associate has learnt the knowledge need to design of routed and switched network infrastructures involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services for businesses and organizations.

Cisco CCDA Certification Prerequisites:

The Cisco Certified Design Associate certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCNA certification.

Cisco CCDA Certification Required Exams:

To be awarded the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification, the Cisco Certified Design Associate student must successfully pass one exam namely; the Cisco 640-861 DESGN (CCDA) exam has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5 and is thus only a moderately difficult exam. This exam is available in English only.

Cisco CCDA Certification Recertification:

A successful Cisco Certified Design Associate student will hold the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification for three years only, after which the Cisco Certified Design Associate student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Design Associate certification by retaking and passing the Cisco DESGN 640-861 (CCDA) exam or taking and passing the CCNA level exams written exam or Any of the exams that bear the 642 prefix.
