Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Cisco CCIE Certification Description:

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification from Cisco Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise environments, or those who want to find employment in those environments, and want to obtain the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification. There are four tracks that can be chosen from each with a written exam and a lab exam.

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert has learnt the knowledge need to planning, designing, implementing, and operating Cisco Networks. The successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certified student will have knowledge of the usage and features of Internet Protocols associated with Cisco Networks transmission, the functional components and applications associated with Content Switching, Content Routing, and Caching. These are all fields in the Service Provider and Enterprise environments.

Cisco CCIE Certification Prerequisites:

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert has no formal prerequisites for CCIE certification; other professional certifications or training courses are not required. It is required that you pass one written exam and one lab exam.

Cisco CCIE Certification Required Exams:

To be awarded the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification, the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert student must successfully pass one written exam and one lab exam. This exam is available in English only.

Cisco CCIE Certification Recertification:

A successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert student will hold the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification for three years only after which the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification by retaking and passing the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert written exam.
