Cisco CCIP Certification Description:

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) certification from Cisco Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise environments, or those who want to find employment in those environments, and want to obtain the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) certification.

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional has learnt the knowledge need to networking technologies in the service provider arena including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS. The successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certified student will have knowledge of the networking technologies in the service provider arena including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS. These are all fields in the Enterprise environments.

Cisco CCIP Certification Prerequisites:

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCNA certification.

Cisco CCIP Certification Required Exams:

To be awarded the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification, the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional student must successfully pass four exams namely; the Cisco 642-801 Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) or Cisco 642-891 composite, Cisco 642-642 Implementing Cisco Quality of Service (QOS), Cisco 642-661 Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers (BGP) and Cisco 642-611 Implementing Cisco MPLS (MPLS) or you can do Cisco 642-801 Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) or Cisco 642-891 composite, Cisco 642-642 Implementing Cisco Quality of Service (QOS) and Cisco 642-691 BGP+MPLS which is a combo of BGP+MPLS.

Cisco CCIP Certification Recertification:

A successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional student will hold the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification for three years only, after which the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification by retaking and passing the Cisco 642-691 BGP+MPLS or passing both Cisco 642-661 BGP and the Cisco 642-611 MPLS exams or taking and passing the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert written exam.
