Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cisco CCNP Certification Description:
The Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification from Cisco Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or those who want to find employment in those environments, and want to obtain the Cisco Content Network Professional certification.
The Cisco Certified Network Professional certification certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Network Professional has learnt the knowledge need to install, configure, and cure any glitches in the local area network and wide area network for large enterprise organizations consisting of networks ranging from an estimated 100 until a maximum of over 500 nodes.. The successful Cisco Certified Network Professional certified student will have knowledge of the quality of service (QoS), converged networks, security, virtual private networks (VPN) and extensive broadband technology coverage.
Cisco CCNP Certification Prerequisites:
The Cisco Certified Network Professional certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCNP certification.
Cisco CCNP Certification Required Exams:
To be awarded the Cisco Certified Network Professional certification, the Cisco Certified Network Professional student must successfully pass either a group of two or four exams namely; the Cisco 642-801 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks), the Cisco 642-801 BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks), the Cisco 642-821 BCRAN (Building Cisco Remote Access Networks) and lastly the Cisco 642-831 CIT (Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting) exams has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5 and is thus only a moderately difficult exam. This exam is available in English and Japanese.

the Cisco 642-891 Composite which combines of two exams in itself, the BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) and the BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks), the Cisco 642-821 BCRAN (Building Cisco Remote Access Networks) and the Cisco 642-831 CIT (Cisco Internet Troubleshooting).
Cisco CCNP Certification Recertification:
A successful Cisco Content Network Professional student will hold the Cisco Certified Network Professional certification for three years only, after which the Cisco Certified Network Professional student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Network Professional certification by retaking and passing the Cisco Cisco 642-801 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) and the Cisco 642-811 BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks) exams OR the Cisco 642-891 Composite exam, which consists of BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) and BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switching Networks), OR just pass the CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) written exam from or later than the 1 st October 2004.
