The Cisco Wireless LAN Certifications from Cisco Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in environments that utilize wireless networks, or those who want to find employment in those environments.

The Cisco Wireless LAN Certifications certifies that a successful student has learnt the knowledge need to design, deploy and maintain end-to-end Cisco Wireless LAN solutions throughout or between buildings, without the limitations of wires or cables. The successful certified student will have knowledge of the factors involved in designing, deploying and maintaining end-to-end Cisco Wireless LAN solutions throughout or between buildings, without the limitations of wires or cables.

Cisco Wireless LAN Certification Prerequisites:

The Cisco Wireless LAN Certifications are generally available only to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCDA, CCNA, or CSE certification.

Cisco Wireless LAN Certification Paths and Exams:

There are four career paths for the Cisco Wireless LAN Certifications, each with their own required exams. These are:

Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Sales Specialist, which the successful student will achieve by passing the Cisco 646-588 AWLANAM exam

Cisco Wireless LAN Design Specialist, which the successful student will achieve by passing the Cisco 642-577 WLANSE exam

Cisco Wireless LAN Sales Specialist, which the successful student will achieve by passing the Cisco 646-102 WLANAM exam

Cisco Wireless LAN Support Specialist, which the successful student will achieve by passing the Cisco 642-582 WLANFE exam

Cisco Wireless LAN Certification Recertification:

A successful Cisco Wireless LAN Certification student will hold their certification for two years only, after which the Cisco Wireless LAN Certification student must re-validate their certification by retaking and passing the Cisco Wireless LAN Certification exam or taking and passing the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert written exam.
